My board project is coming close to the end. I have not painted any miniatures or done anything else hobbywise but work on the buiildings and different scatter terrain; pallets, crates, etc.
Yesterday evening I was finished. So I lined up everything, to see what the finished board would look like and if there was enough terrain pieces. I would still love to get an old locomotive and some wagons, but have been unable to find any that would not be very expensive. In the end I have not quite ended up with my version of the London Necropolis station, but more a goods station. I have added a coffin in the main building though.
So unless I decide to do more about the interior of the buildings, I only have to print some Empire of the Dead posters, similar to what I have done for my London Docks board, and glue them onto the buildings.
Here are a bunch of pictures that I took yesterday. Everything except the rail tracks is scratchbuilt, and I think I have spent roughly 60-70 hours making the board.
Great stuff!

DeleteLovely work.

DeleteLooks really good Kaspar. Great job!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Simon,
DeleteGetting the train and carriages will cost me around £30 but I think it will be worth it.
Wow, this is great! Not only is it well built and nicely finished, but it should be good to play on too. You've got a nice balance of open areas, cover and obstacles. A train would be ideal to add something to the centre of the board when appropriate. Very impressive work :-)
ReplyDeleteThanks Paul,
Deletethe board will have it's debut next Tuesday and I hope that it will be fun to play on. I'm looking at a train, but it will be another £30, which I think I will end up paying.
Coming on well indeed!
ReplyDeleteThanks Scott,
Deleteonly need to add the "poster" on the buildings.
It looks great Kaspar! I feel it could use a little more line of sight blocking terrain. Maybe you should look for a toy train as opposed to a model railroad train & cars.
ReplyDeleteThe table is absolutely fantastic.
