EotD - Wulfen Jaegers

One of my favorite factions in Empire of the Dead is the Wulfen Jaegers. Originally I got the old Westwind Gothic Horror Vampire Wars set of 4 and then later on purchased the Wulfen Jaegers Houndmasters pack. They have been painted and based for over a year now, but I have not used them since the rules don't support the Houndmaster and the Wolfhound being on the same base. I toyed with creating my own rules, but they didn't feel right, so I was not sure what I wanted to do with them.

A year later I got thinking about them again. I wanted to use them in our games, but even if I put the models on separate bases I thought the Houndmasters would look stupid as they were only holding chains. Then I posted on the Darkfire Club Facebook page and Brummie (Simon Quinton) suggested that I try to convert them.

For the conversions I found a Napoleonic musket that I thought I could use. I also had huge pistol from a Malifaux figure that I could use. So in the end I am very pleased with the results and the minis will definately see action on the gaming table.

So here are some pictures of the Houndmasters and the Wolfhounds. I took some images of the other 4 Wulfen Jaegers as well. The last picture is a group shot of the Wulfen Jaegers.

  3. Very well done Kaspar they fit in well with the others and I have to admit those Gothic hounds are some of the best sculpts I've seen.
